15 Classic Disney Crochet & Knit Amigurumi Patterns

Sharing is caring!

These classic Disney crochet & knit amigurumi patterns include characters from Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan and many more. Crochet and knit your favorites from all your favorite classic Disney movies.

Although the Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923, it is still extremely popular almost one hundred years later (maybe even more so now).

I have such fond memories of watching all the classic Disney movies as a young girl. Walt Disney’s personal introductions were of particular interest to me.

I loved learning about the background and inspiration behind the movies. I even liked that they were a little scary with evil queens and wicked step-mothers.

As an adult I enjoy being able to recreate that nostalgic feeling through crocheting and knitting toys.

Disney Crochet & Knit Amigurumi Toy Patterns

I’ve scoured the entire internet to find you the most adorable Disney crochet & knit amigurumi toy patterns.

Ok, that’s a bit of a stretch. I spent a few days searching on Google and looking through Etsy and Ravelry.

I shouldn’t have been surprised that there were a lot….and I mean a lot of Disney crochet & knit amigurumi toy patterns out there.

Disney Crochet Amigurumi Toy Patterns

We will begin with the crocheted Disney amigurumi patterns because there are a lot more of them. Plus, I actually made one and can’t wait to share how cute he is.

Little Dwarfs

First, I’ve always been a lover of Snow White. As a little girl, I loved how she persevered through such adversity and found her prince.

She was beautiful, but also strong and able to boss around a bunch of little men. Nowadays they would call that an aptitude for leadership.

When I came across the Aquari Wool Little Dwarfs pattern, I knew I had to make one of the seven characters.

As I looked at each one of their cute little faces, one stood out to me. It actually reminds me a bit of myself.

I chose Grumpy and I think my family could attest to the fact that some days I resemble this little guy in attitude and stature.

Review

The Little Dwarfs amigurumi pattern is clearly written and easy to use. I like that there is a basic dwarf doll and then you are able to customize it to make each of the individual characters.

By changing a beard, clothing color, facial expressions and ears you can make seven distinct crocheted dwarfs.

They are remarkably similar to the original Disney seven dwarfs in their design.

Yarn Used

Although my little Grumpy turned out absolutely adorable, I will not be making another amigurumi toy with it again.

I wanted Grumpy to be small.

But I also wanted to see if I could return to using cotton yarn for crocheting amigurumi. Fatal mistake.

I absolutely adore DMC Natura Just Cotton yarn. It comes in so many gorgeous colors and is the softest cotton yarn I have ever used.

The yarn is a bit splitty, but you get used to that rather quickly.

My problem with Natura Just Cotton, and all other cotton yarns, is that it is a less stretchy yarn than it’s wool or acrylic counterparts.

As someone who struggles with pain from crocheting amigurumi, cotton yarn is not a good choice. Less of a stretch means more pulling and strain on my fingers, wrist, elbow and even shoulder.

I knew about a quarter of the way in that I had made a mistake, but I was too lazy to start over.

Grumpy turned out absolutely adorable with the cotton yarn, but my hands and wrists suffered.

Pinnochio

Another one of Aquari Wool’s Disney designs is Pinnochio.

What a gorgeous amigurumi doll!

He is a perfect replica of the classic Disney rendition.

I also love that his arms and legs are jointed and can move just like the puppet Pinnochio did.

Black Witch

One of my favorite classic Disney movies is Sleeping Beauty.

The dreadful Maleficent is such an iconic antagonist and this crocheted version is perfection.

Although in the movie she was totally evil this crocheted version has a hint of cuteness to her as well.

Princess Belle

My kids loved the movie Beauty and Beast so much that we named our first dog Belle, after the beautiful Disney princess.

This charming amigurumi Belle is so true to the original Disney movie.

I love her gorgeous yellow ball gown and pretty brown curls.

These “fun size” amigurumi dolls are so cute and iconic Disney princesses.

Each one is so cute and so tiny.

Evil Queens

Once you’ve made the adorable “fun size” princesses, now it’s time to bring the evil queens to life.

Why am I always drawn to the bad guys? Lol.

These “fun size” amigurumi dolls include four quintessential queens from the movies One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid.

Alice in Wonderland Collection

Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my very favorite classic Disney movies and these amigurumi patterns are incredible.

I love that you get Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit (holding a tiny clock) and the Queen of Hearts.

The level of detail in each one of these patterns is incredible. They would be perfect for the Alice in Wonderland fan.

Green Frog Crochet is such a talented amigurumi designer and her Tinker Bell pattern makes me squeal with delight.

I loved how Tinker Bell was spunky and short and had a bad attitude. She reminded me of myself.

This gorgeous Disney crochet amigurumi pattern will be such a wonderful doll to add to your collection.

Little Mermaid

My daughters absolutely loved The Little Mermaid when they were little girls.

I can still remember them running around the house singing Ariel’s ballad as Ursula the Sea Witch stole her voice.

This is another amazing design by Green Frog Crochet and she’s absolutely perfect.

Cinderella

Cinderella is the most recognizable of all the Disney princesses.

Incredibly, the original animated movie was released in 1950, seventy-two years ago.

I love that this particular pattern includes both Cinderella as the maid and in her beautiful, blue ball gown.

That particular pattern is no longer available, but here is a different one that I think is so cute:

Mary Poppins

This may be one of the most unique Disney crochet amigurumi patterns I’ve ever seen.

Mary Poppins is known for her umbrella and carpet bag and this pattern has both. In addition, this detailed pattern has so many removable pieces like a red hat, navy blue coat, shoes, and mittens just to name a few.

I also love the detailed facial features like her eyes and mouth.

Disney Knit Amigurumi Toy Patterns

Although there aren’t as many knit Disney amigurumi patterns, they are just as wonderful. Each one of these beautiful designs captures the magic and wonder of Disney.

Knitting with Disney Book

If you’re looking for a Disney resource, look no further.

Knitting with Disney by Tanis Gray is an official book full of Disney inspired patterns.

You will find patterns for amigurumi toys, home decor, costumes and apparel.

The toys patterns include Tinker Bell, Jaq and Gus, and Pascal.

My favorites are Jaq and Gus from Cinderella. These two little mice look like they just stepped right out of the movie screen. Jaq with his oversized coat and Gus with his too tight T-shirt are about the cutest toys I’ve ever seen.

Cinderella Pantomice

I recently watched a recommended YouTube video by Fruity Knitting. In it the host, Andrea Doig, interviewed the prolific and uber-talented knitted toy designer, Alan Dart.

If you haven’t watched this episode, I highly recommend it, and I thank those who encouraged me to watch it.

Fruity Knitting Episode with Alan Dart

Alan Dart has dozens of knitted toy patterns and each one is absolutely incredible. Although I have never tackled one of his patterns, I am definitely going to.

These little Cinderella Pantomice are just the cutest. But when you look closely you will see all the detail.

Most of the time, I prefer crocheted amigurumi toys over knitted ones. There is always a level of shaping and detail that seem to be more prevalent with crocheted toys. But that isn’t the case with Mr. Dart’s patterns.

Each one looks as if it could speak right to you.

Make sure to check out Alan Dart’s website, even if you aren’t a knitter. Just looking at his collection of characters will brighten your spirit and bring a smile to your face.

Cinderella and Friends

Esther Joy Knits has such a lovely Ravelry page full of the cutest little knit toys.

One of my favorites is another Cinderella pattern.

This group of characters includes Cinderella (princess/maid, the prince and fairy godmother). Each one is beautifully dressed and have very simple facial features.

Mouse Twins

When you think of Disney, Micky and Minnie immediately come to mind.

This sizable pair of knitted toys look identical to the classic Disney characters.

She also has patterns for Donald and Daisy Duck and Mary Poppins.

Peter Pan Finger Puppets

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for finger puppets.

As a kid, I loved seeing them and I loved making them for my children when they were little.

These adorable Peter Pan Finger Puppets are about as cute as they can be.

I am absolutely amazed at the level of detail they each have, and they still are small enough to sit on your finger.

But Loly Fuertes has more Disney knit amigurumi patterns.

She has also designed these patterns:

  • Pirates of the Caribbean Dolls
  • Sleeping Beauty Finger Puppets
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Finger Puppets
  • Pinnochio Finger Puppets
  • Alice in Wonderland Tea Cozy

These are just to name a few. She has 439 knitted pattern designs on Etsy alone. Holy moly!
