The Most Adorable Amigurumi Doll Patterns

Sharing is caring!

Looking for the most adorable amigurumi doll patterns? You’ll find paid and free projects, girl and boy dolls, and they are all completely captivating.

Do you remember your favorite doll?

I have two that I absolutely adored as a little girl. The first was a Holly Hobby fabric doll that wore the sweetest little calico dress and had long brown braids.

That was when I was fascinated with all things Little House on the Prairie and I named her Laura, after the famous star of the 1970s TV show.

My second favorite doll was handmade and given to me on Christmas of 1985. I remember it like it was yesterday. When I pulled her out of the box, she took my breath away. I named her Jenny and we were inseparable for many years. She’s currently sitting in a box in my closet in my bedroom, still not very far away.

This post contains affiliates links and at no cost to you I may earn a teeny tiny commission if you choose to purchase them. Please know that I only recommend products I use and love! Thank you for supporting Elise Rose Crochet! You can read my full (and slightly boring) full disclosure here.

Amigurumi Doll Patterns

I’ve never lost my love of handmade dolls and am now fortunate enough to be able to crochet dolls for myself and others.

Thankfully these days there are so many gorgeous amigurumi doll patterns for us to choose from. And I can’t wait to share a few of my favorites with you.

Green Frog Crochet

If you haven’t come across the magnificent patterns by Green Frog Crochet, let me be the first to introduce them to you.

Dang is the super talented designer behind Green Frog Crochet and I am astonished by her gift for designing amigurumi dolls.

When looking through her Etsy shop, I came across the beautiful Mia doll and knew I wanted to make her.

The first thing I love about Mia, is her size. She’s perfect for a child (or adult) who wants a doll to play with and hold.

I also adore her sweet face and her precious little dress, which I enjoyed crocheting so much.

The addition of the fox ears headband makes this amigurumi doll pattern so much fun too.

I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to make the hair look good (why do I worry so much about amigurumi doll hair) but the pattern was so clear that I had no trouble.

Amigurumi Doll Yarn

My hands down favorite yarn for crocheting amigurumi doll patterns is Berroco Vintage. And that is exactly what I used for the Mia doll.

The combination of the softness of this wool blend and the gorgeous colors makes it my go-to yarn for crocheting toys. Berroco Vintage also comes in sixty-two magnificent shades.

For Mia I used the colors:

  • Mushroom (for the skin)
  • Buttercream (for the dress ruffles and ear details)
  • Pumpkin (for the dress and ears)
  • Chocolate (for the hair)

Amigurumi Doll Dress Forms

Make sure to check out Green Frog Crochet on Instagram, if you aren’t already drooling over her stunning page.

Dang recently shared an amigurumi doll dress form that you can make and she even shared the FREE pattern and instructions on her page.

How adorable is that???? It’s such a wonderful and creative way to showcase the dresses you make for her amigurumi doll patterns.

Amigurumi Today

Amigurumi Today has tons of adorable crocheted toy patterns including dolls.

They even have an entire section devoted to their free amigurumi doll patterns.

Here are some of my favorites:

The first is the Free Amy Doll Amigurumi Pattern. She’s such a cute little school girl with her backpack and tennis shoes.

The next is the Free Rosalie Doll Amigurumi Pattern. Her pretty pink dress and teeny tiny teddy bear is adorable.

And last but definitely not least is the Crocheted Rag Doll Amigurumi Pattern. I love her wild colors and cute cartoonish face. What a cutie patootie.

Little By Little LB

As soon as I saw these adorable little sleeping dolls, I had to know more.

Their sweet little faces and tiny size make them especially charming.

But the title of them isn’t in English and I needed to know exactly what these little amigurumi dolls were. So I hopped onto Google Translate and typed in the words from the little card.

Translation:

Worry Doll
Originally from Mexico and Guatemala, the worry dolls will put an end to worries.
Legend has it that before falling asleep, we must tell the doll what worries us, give it a kiss and put it under the pillow, in the morning when we wake up the problem will have disappeared.

What a sweet gift that would be for anyone who struggles with worry or anxiety. And their size makes them simple to whip up quickly.

When you check out these adorable patterns, don’t stop there. Liliana (the designer) has so many gorgeous amigurumi doll patterns to choose from in her Etsy shop.

They are sweet, simple patterns that I just love and I think you all will too.

Wool Toys Marina

These beautiful Waldorf inspired amigurumi doll patterns are so incredibly sweet.

This amigurumi doll has a crocheted body and knitted clothing and I love that combination.

Waldorf dolls are a very specific style and are made in accordance with the Waldorf education philosophy. They are typically very simple, natural dolls made to encourage a child’s imagination.

Waldorf “dolls are generally made of natural fibers â€” such as woolcotton, or linen â€” from their stuffing to their hair to their clothing. The doll makers use techniques drawing on traditional European doll-making. The doll’s appearance is intentionally simple in order to allow the child playing with it to develop the imagination and creative play. For instance, it has either no facial features, or a simple neutral expression. The legs and arms are soft and if flexible allow natural postures. They are ideally entirely natural.”

Tommy the Fisher Amigurumi Doll

Amigurumi dolls aren’t just for girls either. This adorable little Tommy the Fisher amigurumi doll is as cute as he can be.

He has so many details and would be the sweetest little toy for any boy, or girl for that matter.

Tommy has so much personality from the expression of his face, to his little crooked cap and everything in between.

The addition of his three colorful fish is such a smart detail.

  1. I cannot find “pumpkin” berroco vintage. I used your link, and looked around, but nope.

    1. Hello! LoveCrafts changes which shades they carry of different yarn brands. You can find Berroco Vintage other places. I’ve found it at local yarn shops but if you’re looking online check Jimmy Beans. Hope that helps!
