Mwahahahahah!!!!! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love all the scary things! The witches, the chainsaws, the candy corn……wait, what? You don’t find candy corn scary? What about a family of candy corns? No? That’s not scary either?

Even if you don’t find this iconic Halloween candy scary I hope you’ll want to dive into this super simple amigurumi tutorial. Above all, I designed these toys with the absolute beginner in mind. I’m going to walk you through each and every step so that you can crochet your very own candy corn.

Introducing the Corn Family

First, I would like to first introduce you to the Corn family. Christopher Corn, is a devoted husband and father. He enjoys golfing and DIY projects. Secondly Candace Corn, better known as Candy loves baking. She is particularly well known for her Boston Cream pies. Finally, Caroline Corn, is the baby of the family and spends her days giggling and blowing raspberries.

Skills Needed

To begin this beginner amigurumi tutorial you are going to need to have a few foundational skills.

Materials Needed

Because this project is fairly simple and you can use what you already have. Above all, don’t feel like you have to buy precisely what I’m listing here. But I am going to add the exact products I use in case you need supplies.

Furls Odyssey Purple Crochet Hook 6″ (3.50 mm (E)) or a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

BetyBedy Large-Eye Blunt Needles, Stainless Steel Yarn Knitting Needles, 9 Pieces Sewing Needles or any yarn needles you already have

348 Pcs 6-20mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes Colorful Plastic Safety Eyes Craft Eyes and Safety Noses with Washers or you can use small buttons or even embroider the eyes with French knots.

Knitting Stitch Counter – LeBeila Split Stitch Marker Rings or any stitch markers you already have.

DMC 115 5-310 Pearl Cotton Thread, Black, Size 5 or any black embroidery floss or thin black yarn.

Poly-Fil Premium Polyester Fiber, 16 Oz or any kind of stuffing you already have on hand.

Berroco Vintage Yarn, 5100 Snow Day or a worsted weight yarn you have in yellow, orange, white, mustard, rust, buttercream, light pink, and dark pink.

OR

Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Aran in yellow, orange, white, light pink, and dark pink.

Optional Materials

I used a few extra supplies but they certainly aren’t necessary. Therefore, if you want your Candy Corn Family to be exactly like mine these are the additional materials I used. Above all, if you are planning on becoming a toy making addict like me, you may want to build your supply stash.

Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 94 Rose Pink or any 4-ply yarn for details like cheeks and hair bow in light pink and purple.
