Knit Picks Yarn Swift

Oh my goodness. This may be a yarn swift, but it is also a piece of art. I cannot adequately express how gorgeous it is.

Made from durable Birch wood, this swift will last for years and years. The quality continues with the metal hardware and plastic stopper to prevent scratches on your table.

This will make turning those hanks of yarn into center pull cakes a breeze.

Note: When using a yarn swift you may also want a ball winder (see the one below).

Ball Winder

When I was looking for a high quality ball winder, this one from LAMXD came up over and over again. It’s metal construction and high Amazon ratings won me over.

This is no ordinary ball winder. The size of this ball winder makes it easy to wind large hanks of yarn into beautiful center pull cakes.

Note: When using a ball winder, it is best to use a yarn swift as well (see the one above)

Rechargeable LED Neck Light

Why, oh why, has it taken me this long to get a neck light? I enjoy crocheting at night, but my eyesight is not what it used to be.

I strain and grumble under my breath because I don’t see as well as I used to when the sun sets, and I actually have time to sit and crochet.

Thankfully I now have this amazing tool. I love that it sits comfortably around my neck, that the light is incredibly bright and that it is rechargeable.

You can also adjust the brightness with a click of a button. The flexible side pieces adjust to shine the light exactly where you need it most.

The battery lasts up to eighty hours before needing to be recharged! Totally amazing.

I cannot recommend this neck light highly enough!

Funny Crochet T-Shirt

Next in the crochet gift guide is this adorable find.

I’ve been wanting a crochet T-shirt so that I can prance around and let the world know how much I love this craft. When I happened upon this one, I knew it had to be mine.

It comes in a Men or Women style cut and in ten different colors.

I chose the Women style in the Dark Heather color. I ended up going up one size and I’m glad I did. Typically, I wear a medium, but I didn’t want this shirt to fit snuggly. I like a little room in my T-shirts so I ordered a large and it is perfect.

The quality of the fabric and printing is surprisingly good for such an affordable T-shirt. I also love the saying:

“I like to party. And by party, I mean stay home and crochet.”

As a total homebody, this is my new personal mission statement.

You will also find a lot of other crochet related T-shirts with funny sayings like: “I Crochet so I Don’t Choke People. Send Yarn, Save a Life” or “Crochet is my Cardio”.

The Shop on Blossom Street Book

Next in the Crochet Gift Guide is The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber.

I know, I’m totally late to the party here.

Originally published in 2004, this sweet book is about Lydia Hoffman, who opens a yarn shop in Seattle after battling cancer. Here she meets three other women going through their own life struggles.

I love a cozy read and haven’t been able to put this book down since I got it.

“These four very different women, brought together by the age-old craft of knitting, make unexpected discoveries—about themselves and each other. Discoveries that lead to friendship and acceptance, to laughter and dreams. Discoveries only women can share…”

Buttonjar Studio

Finally, last but certainly not least are the wonderful offerings from my good friend, Julie Cashin, of the Buttonjar Studio.

Julie hand makes the most gorgeous project bags (which I am a proud owner of one), but she also makes the most adorable accessories for crocheters and knitters.

When I looked around at my crafting supplies I discovered two different problems that needed solving.

Scissor Fob

First, I constantly misplace my scissors. Most evenings you will find me digging around my notions pouch frantically searching for my small black embroidery scissors. They are beautiful, but very difficult to keep track of.

Julie has the best (and cutest) solution to my dilemma with the Scissor Fob.

“Clip one of these fobs onto your favorite pair of little craft or embroidery scissors and never lose them again.”

— Buttonjar Studio

I chose the Pink HHF Bramble (Hedgehog Fibers) to go with my beautiful bag and I couldn’t be happier.

Crochet Hook Guage

Second, I have a handful of crochet hooks that don’t have the size imprinted on them. It can be frustrating when I can’t remember the size, and in crochet, size matters.

“And so, I offer these very special needle gauges made from hard wood with precise measured holes made by Katrinkles”

— Buttonjar Studio

As with everything that Julie makes, this one is totally adorable. The crochet hook gauge is shaped like a mason jar, which I find absolutely charming.
